Today we will receive our “Harvest Offering” to build a new playground for our children.  I like the term “Harvest Offering” because it represents giving back to God of the bountiful things He has done for us.  My best investment will always be in the work of God in my local church.  Along with that, I am investing in the next generation of our church.  Our church must provide a place for our young people to have some fun and burn some energy.  This will also add another fresh look to our property. I hope you will give with a generous heart toward this project.

Next week is our Striving Together Bible Conference which will be one of the highlights of the year.  Let me take a moment to introduce our preachers:

*Dr. David Gibbs, Jr. is the founder of the Christian Law Association based in Seminole.  Brother Gibbs has been helping churches and Christians now for forty years.  They have handled over 2 million legal matters in that time.  You will hear one of the greatest preachers I know in Dr. Gibbs.

*Dr. Paul Chappell has been the pastor of Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, California for 22 years.  Lancaster Baptist church is one of the largest independent Baptist churches in America.  Fifteen years ago the church began West Coast Baptist College which now has approximately 1,000 students training for the ministry.

*Dr. R.B. Ouellette has pastored the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Michigan for over 30 years.  This church has grown to be the largest independent Baptist church in the state of Michigan.  Dr. Ouellette is a dynamic preacher who will stir your heart.

*Evangelist Chris Miller is making his second trip here to preach for us.  Chris has been in full-time evangelism for over ten years.  I enjoy his heart and love for people.  You will enjoy this fine young man.

Please be here for each of these meetings.  I believe your heart will be stirred.  Be sure to greet all our guests and thank them for being with us.

This is our “Open House Sunday” and I want to welcome each of you today.  This summer we completed and dedicated this wonderful building to the Lord.  Today we as a church would welcome you to look around and see what has been done for the glory of the Lord.  After the 11:00 service feel free to walk back through the nursery and office areas in the rear of the building.  God has been good to us and truly all glory goes to Him.
Next Sunday we will receive our annual Harvest Offering.  This will be used to build a new playground for the children and remodel the fellowship hall.  I hope you will be generous in your giving in order that we can take care of this task.   We have wonderful children here at our church and I would love to have a wonderful new area for them to play.  Thank you for being such a part of this project.
In just two weeks we will have our Striving Together Conference here at the church.  This conference comes at a great time.  We will have many visiting pastors here with us for the conference.  Let me give you a schedule for the conference:

Have you had some disappointments as you travel life's old road?

Have you Found it hard to carry such a portion of you load?

Have you wondered at the struggle that His will has just bestowed?

HIS grace is sufficient for thee!

Have you wondered just the reason that His hand allows this pain?

Have you tried to trust completely - but to trust seems all in vain?

Do you find that, as you suffer, your own strength begins to wane?

His GRACE is sufficient for thee!

Do the skies seem dark and dismal and the stormclouds hover near?

Do you find it hard to listen while He tells you not to fear?

Do you wonder why His mercy will not every dim hope clear?

His grace IS sufficient for thee!

    Yes, our dreams may all be shattered, but our lives are in His hands;

    All our hopes and selfish wishes are but built on sinking sands;

Now our hearts' desires have vanished, for our Father's voice commands:

My grace is SUFFICIENT for thee!

Then why should we oft-times wonder at the leading of His will?

And why do we cry in anguish when our life He tries to fill?

Let us praise our Lord and Master as we hear His, "Peace, be still!"

MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR THEE!

Today we celebrate the family.  The family is the first institution set up by God in the Garden of Eden.  God had a distinct plan for the family all through the ages.  If we follow His plan according to the Word of God, we will find His blessing and true success.  Strong families are the backbone of a strong local church like Bible Baptist Church.  Do your part to make your family a stronghold for God today.

Our college and career class is putting together care packages from our church family to the college students.  We would like your help getting some specific items we would like to send them.  Here is our list:

    Ramen Noodles
    Microwave Popcorn
    Candy (that doesn’t melt)
    Gum
    Life Saver Mints
    Potato Chips in a Can
    Snack Crackers
    Hot Cocoa Packets
$5 Gift Cards to Walmart or McDonalds
    Notes of Encouragement

If you can help with any of these just put them in the box marked “College Students” in the bookstore.  You know how much they will enjoy these items.  Thank you for your help.

Thank the Lord for all the wonderful youth we have here in the church!  We have a great group that love the Lord and are learning to serve Him with their lives.  Always be a source of encouragement to these great young people and be sure to keep them in your prayers.  We are training the next generation to serve the Lord and be leaders for the cause of Christ.  They need to know that we love them and support them.  Today we celebrate our young people!

Just a reminder that April and I are hosting our third trip to the Holy Land of Israel on February 16 - 25, 2010.  There is not a trip, or an experience like visiting the land of God’s Word.  There is nothing like being at the Sea of Galilee, Caesarea, Bethesda, Nazareth, Jordan River, Capernaum, Mount Moriah, Golgotha, Gethsemane and of course, the Empty Tomb.  The Bible will start to appear in color  right before your eyes.  This truly is the trip of a lifetime and one you will remember forever.  Along the way I will personally teach you great truths from the Word of God.  If you or someone you know would be interested in going, see myself or April or simply pick up a brochure at the Welcome Center.  All reservations must be done by November 12th, so don’t delay.

Thank you once again for all your prayers and cards for me this week.  I have not been sick like that in quite a long time.  How wonderful to be a part of a praying church!  May God bless you today.
