    Be Thankful                  Psalm 100             Psalm of Praise  
             Title
             Praise-Word for Thanksgiving
             Face Away From the Temple Toward the Nations
             Facing Away, They Repeat the Invitation of Verses 1-3a
             Joyful noise-Rejoice, Cheer, Shout in Triumph
             All ye lands-The Whole Earth or All Nations
             Israel’s Responsibility To Introduce the Gentiles to the True & Living God
             This Psalm Has A Missionary Purpose
             Serve-Labor
             True Service is Worship (Rom 12:1)
             Gladness-Joy or Cheerfulness
             Before his presence-Face
             Singing-Exultation or Rejoicing (Heb 13:15)
             Know-Means to Know by Experience
             He is God-He Alone is God
             After Declaring to the Nations, the Pilgrims Face Each Other
             They Remind Themselves They are God’s Own Possession (Ex 19:5)
             God Declared That His People Were to Be His Kingdom of Priests (Ex 19:6)
             He that hath made us-Means More Than Created; Formed Into a Nation
             Not we ourselves-We Are Not Our Own Property (1 Cor 6:19)
             People-Nation
             Sheep-Figurative Language of God’s People as a Flock
             The Priest Calls to the Pilgrims
             Enter his gates-The Gates Are His, Not Ours
             With Thanksgiving-The Thank Offering (Lev 7:11)
             The Pilgrims Enter the Court of the Gentiles
             We Believe that the Lord is good
             God Will Maintain His Loyalty to His People to the End
             Truth-(Emunah) Faithfulness
             God’s Nature Doesn’t Change, So His Goodness, Mercy & Faithfulness Last Forever (Ps 107:2)

    The Glory of the Lord in Creation            Psalm 8       A Psalm of Praise 
    n     Title
    n     Gittith-A Melody or Musical Style Used at the Rejoicings After the Grape Harvest
    n     The Winepress Figure is Adopted for the  Final Destruction of God’s Enemies (Is 63:2-4)
    n     LORD our Lord-(Jehovah…Adonai) Covenant Lord and Master
    n     Excellent-Glorious or Majestic
    n     Set thy glory-Stretches out or Exaltation Above
    n     Above the heavens-The Earth’s Atmosphere & Space
    n     Mouth of babes and sucklings-Children of an Age to Speak
    n     Ordained-Lay a Foundation for or Perfected (Matt 21:15-16)
    n     The Word of God Learned in Childhood Lays a Foundation for Faith
    n     Strength-The Word in Praise is Strong Enough to Defeat Enemies

    n     The Son of God Assumed This Same Nature (Heb 2:16)
    n     Dominion-Rule or To Govern
    n     By These Words, Man is Given the Right of Dominion
    n     All things under his feet-Actual Dominion is Through the God-Man
    n     All Living Creatures Were to Be Under Man
    n     But Because of Sin, That Dominion Has Never Been Fully Realized
    n     When Jesus Ministered Here On Earth, He Exercised the Dominion That Adam Lost

    The Witness of the Word                 Psalm 19:7-14 
             The law of the LORD (Torah)-Means Instruction, Direction or Teaching
             Is perfect-Flawless and Complete
             Converting the soul (Meshibah)-Restore & Give New Life
             The testimony of the Lord-Synonym for Scripture
             Is sure-Fixed, Firm, Stable
             Making wise the simple-Enlightening Moral Judgment
             The statutes of the Lord-Scripture in Detail
             Are right-Founded in Righteousness
             Rejoicing the heart-Joy Comes From Following God’s Word
             The Commandment of the Lord-Means That Which is Appointed (Deut 30:15)
             Is pure-Spotless, Clean & Without Fault
             Enlightening the eyes-Giving Light to the Intellect or Discernment
             The fear of the Lord-A Settled Habit of the Soul Based on Instruction From God’s Word
             Is clean-Pure or Perfect
             Enduring for ever-Perpetual Obligation (2 Cor 4:16)
             The judgments of the Lord-Ordinances or Decisions of a Judge
             Are true and righteous altogether-Beyond Question
             More to be desired…than much fine gold-Spiritual Treasure is Forever
             Sweeter than honey-Preferable
             Thy servant warned-Personal Worth to David was the Instruction
             In keeping of them-Acting, Not Just Hearing
               
    Great reward-Obedience Rewards Present & Future (2 Cor 4:17)
             Who can understand his errors?-Know the Word
             Cleanse thou me from secret faults-Ignorance or Forgetfulness (Lev 4; 1 Jn 1:9)
             Presumptuous sins-Proceeding Beyond What We Know is Wrong (Num 15:30-36)
             Dominion over me-Un-confessed Sin Will Rule
             Words of my mouth-Praise
             Meditation of my heart-Spoken Words Come From the Attitudes of the Heart (Matt 12:33)
             Be acceptable-Without Blemish (Lev. 1:1-9)
             My redeemer (Goel)-One Who Has A Right to Redeem (Gal 3:13)

    The Witness of the World                Psalm 19:1-6 
    l     The heavens-Plural, The Spheres Above the Earth
    l     Biblically There Are Three: Atmosphere, Space & God’s Throne
    l     Declare-Over & Over Reveal
    l     The glory of God-The Sum of His Perfections & Splendor As Creator (Rom 1:20 & Amos 4:13)
    l     The Jewish People Were Forbidden to Worship the Objects in the Heavens
    l     Not Allowed to Practice Astrology
    l     They Were to Worship the Creator, Not the Creation (Rom 1:25)
    l     The Creation is a “Wordless Book” That Everyone Can Read, Needs No Translation
    l     Firmament (Rakeea)-To Stretch Out; Includes Atmosphere & Space (Gen 1:8)
    l     Sheweth-Proclaims
    l     His handywork-Superior Power
    l     Day unto day…night unto night-Continual
    l     Uttereth speech-Pours Out Speech
    l     Night showeth knowledge-Viewing the Stars Awakens Spiritual Reflection
    l     No speech nor language-No Speech, No Words
    l     Their voice is not heard-Without Sound
    l     The Message From Nature About the Glory of God Reaches All Nations & is Equally Understood
    l     Their Message is not Directed to the Ear, But to the Eye (Rom 1:18-20)
    l     Their line-Instruction or Decree; The Influence Exerted By Their Signs
    l     Gone out through all the earth-Taken Possession of the Entire Earth
    l     God’s Voice of Power in Creation Prepares the Way for His Voice of Grace in the Gospel
    l     Their words to the end of the world-(Millim) Mental Language Not Spoken
    l     In them hast he set a tabernacle for the sun-Dwelling Place (Eccl 1:5)
    l     As a bridegroom coming out of his chamber-The Bridegroom Went Forth to Meet the Bride in Rich Apparel Preceded by Torch Light
    l     The Sun’s Chamber is Where It Passes the Night
    l     Rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race-Power and Determination 
    l     From the end of heaven-The Extreme East Horizon or Sunrise
    l     And his circuit unto the ends of it-It’s Course in the Sky to Sunset
    l     Nothing hid from the heat thereof-Influence on all
    l     Application (As)
    l     Jesus, Like a Sun, Dwells in the Midst of Revelation
    l     He Tabernacled Among Men in All His Brightness
    l     Rejoicing As The Bridegroom of His Church
    l     He Reveals Himself to Men
    l     He Not Only Enlightens Understanding, But Also Warms Hearts to Accept Truth
    l     Like a Champion, He Wins to Himself Glory
    l     He Makes a Circuit of Mercy, Blessing the Remotest Parts of the Earth
    l     No Seeking Soul Will Be Denied the Warmth of His Love
