    David & Jonathan Part              1 Samuel 20:18-42
    ·        Not God’s Will That David Permanently Join Himself to Saul & His Family
    ·        Saul Belonged to the Wrong Tribe & Represented a Rejected Monarchy
    ·        David Never Had a Co-Ruler Because Jonathan Was Killed in Battle ( 31:1-2)
    ·        David Rejected Saul’s Daughter Michal as His Wife & She Died Childless (2 Sam 6:16-23)·        And when thou hast stayed three days-On the Third Day
    ·        Shalt go down quickly-Greatly or A Long Way Down Into the Valley
    ·        When the business was in hand-The First Reconciliation
    ·        By the stone Ezel-Departure or Road-Stone to Mark the Way
    ·        The Two Friends Now Agree Upon the Sign
    ·        Jonathan Was to Shoot 3 Arrows at this Stone as his Target
    ·        If the Arrows Were this side of thee Between the Stone and Jonathan
    ·        David Was to Come Forth Boldly, as All Was Well
    ·        As the LORD liveth-Trustworthy Oath
    ·        If the Arrows Were beyond thee, Further Than the Stone
    ·        Then David Must Understand the LORD hath sent thee away
    ·        Though Physical Separation, Spiritual Separation Could Never Occur
    ·        The LORD be between-The LORD Oversees the Relationship
    ·        The Arrows Can Be Likened to God’s Leading
    ·        The arrows are beyond thee-Past Finding Out
    ·        There is a Divine Purpose Determining Our Course
    ·        Following the Arrow is Necessary to Secure Greater Happiness Than We Leave Behind
    ·        He is not clean-Ceremonial Defilement (Lev 15:2-16)
    ·        On the morrow-Second Day Absence No Accident
    ·        Thou son of the perverse rebellious woman-A Great Insult to Call a Man’s Mother Names
    ·        He Was Not Saul’s Son At All, But the Son of Some Other Man
    ·        Unto the confusion of thy mother’s nakedness-He Had Shamed His Mother as Much as if He Had Exposed Her Nakedness
    ·        He shall surely die-The Fate to which David is Destined According to Saul
    ·        What hath he done?-The Same Question David Asked Jonathan
    ·        Saul cast a javelin at him-Same Behavior as with David
    ·        So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger
    ·        Refused the Meal
    ·        Angered at His Father’s Actions
    ·        Angered More Because Saul Cast Shame on David
    ·        Jonathan answered Saul his father
    ·        Never Be Ashamed to Own a Friend
    ·        Never Be Ashamed to Speak Up for the Cause of Truth
    ·        Both Could Not Be More Applicable to the Cause of Christ
    ·        Jonathan’s Next to Last Meeting with David (Last 23:16-18)
    ·        His artillery-Disarmed of His Weapons
    ·        Bowed himself three times-Respect and Servitude
    ·        Until David exceeded-Broke Down
