l Abigail Was As Wise As Nabal Was Foolish
l One of the young men-Household Servant
l Told Abigail-Couldn’t Approach Nabal
l To salute our master-With Greetings of Blessing
l The men were very good-David’s Men Took on the Characteristics of Their Leader
l Conversant with them-Went About With Them
l Were a wall unto us-A Sure Protection
l David-A Shepherd of Sheep & Now People Also
l Evil is determined-Trouble is Coming
l A son of Belial-Son of Wickedness
l Abigail Put Together a Generous Gift of Food
l Go on before me-Food First Shows Genuineness
l She told not her husband-She Could Dispose of the Family Provisions
l The covert of the hill-They Met in a Ravine
l Three Observations in Venting His Frustrations:
l Surely in vain-His Efforts Have Been Useless
l Requited me evil for good-Demonic Character
l Do God unto the enemies of David-Vow Avoids Risk of Taking God’s Name in Vain
l Bowed herself to the ground-Sets the Tone in Humility
l Upon me…let this iniquity be-Represents Herself as the Guilty Party
l Speak in thine audience-Asked to Be Heard
l Let not my lord…regard this man of Belial-Don’t Listen to a Fool
l I…saw not the young men of my lord-Unaware of the Visit
l The LORD hath withholden thee-Jehovah Sent Me to Prevent Bloodshed
l Let thine enemies…be as Nabal-Insignificant Fools
l Blessing-Gifts Come From God, Not the Donor
l Given unto the young men that follow my lord-Accept the Gifts For David’s Followers
l Forgive the trespass-Blame Still on Me, But for a Noble Reason
l Make my lord a sure house-Permanent Prosperity
l My lord fighteth the battles of the LORD-Will Fight; Looked Future to His Kingship
l Evil hath not been found-Shall not be Found; No Offence to Reject Kingship
