David, Abigail & Nabal                       1 Samuel 25:29-44 
l     Bound in the bundle of life-Precious & Kept Secure
l     Enemies, them shall he sling out-Cast Away Violently
l     No grief…nor offence of heart-Stumbling Block
l     Remember thine handmaid-Act Favorably 
n     David’s Reply to Abigail
n     David Responded With a Threefold Beatitude:
n     Blessed be the LORD…which sent thee-Jehovah Put It in Abigail’s Heart to Come to David
n     Blessed be thy advice-Perception or Good Judgment (Prov 15:31-33)
n     How We Receive Reproof & Counsel is a Test of Our Relationship to the Lord
n     Blessed be thou-Abigail Herself
n     Kept me…from coming to shed blood-Unlike Saul Who Killed the Priests
n     As the LORD God of Israel liveth-Vowed to Kill Nabal & All Males
n     David received of her hand-Accepted the Gifts
n     Go up in peace to thine house-Dismisses Her With the Assurance That All Was Forgiven
n     The Widowed Woman
n     Nabal…held a feast in his house-While Judgment Was Approaching
n     Nabal’s heart was merry-His Idea of Happiness Was to Get Drunk (Phil 3:19)
n     She told him nothing…until the morning-Wise Not to Reason With Out-of-Control People
n     His heart died within him, and he became as a stone-Stroke Followed by a Coma
n     The LORD smote Nabal, that he died-Payday Someday
n     The Wedded Woman
n     LORD…hath pleaded the cause of my reproach-Protection & Justice
n     David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife-The Proper Procedure
n     Marrying Abigail Gave David Possession of All Nabal’s Wealth
n     Let thine handmaid be a servant-Willingness Expressed Humbly
n     Abigail hasted, and arose-Wasted No Time on the Offer to Be Queen
n     Became his wife-David is Secure Enough From Saul to Marry
n     David also took Ahinoam-Probably Married Before Abigail (27:3;30:5)
n     Saul had given Michal…to Phalti-To Break David’s Connection to the Throne
